SATURDAY
New Kit day brought out a gaggle of Doughboys. Sam, Malo, VJ, MC (on his new Price - Sweet!), Scheibs, Stanton, Ullrich, Ty, Hoodie, and of course, ME. Smaller group of Fanatics embarked at 6:30am, meeting the main crew at Hoodie's house. New kits are big pimpin! Well done Hoodie!

M.E.
Early roll was a blast, just an out and back BeeCave/360South and back to BeeCave. Big group was a might twitchy, as we have not ridden together in quite some time. Original plan was the short Dam Loop. Some heroics ensued at Bee Cave and Cuernavaca. Leaders in the group stopped abruptly at the light, compressing the accordion. This instrument made some ugly noise, as Ty was unaware of the breaking. This is understandable since he was behind Hoodie, which as all know is a comfortable draft, but an obstructed view for all but the shortest (if you are short enough, you can look between his legs up the road). Ty ain't that short. His obstructed view lead to a delay in braking, which lead to a quasi-impact with Hoodie. Ty's wheel actually rolled between Todd's bike and his foot. Somehow Ty kept the bike up, unclipping and skating to a stop, executing a Salchow that would have made Dorothy Hamill smile. Unreal.
Having witnessed the impossible, I took the sign and hung loose, not wanting to tempt the gods of blood on pavement. Mechanical gremlins pounced on us shortly thereafter. First, MC took a line through a pothole that made his Prince yelp in a disturbing manner.Right after the dam bridge, Scheible's tubeless world fell apart, as his back tire took a gash that literally eviscerated it, sending air and tube goo spewing forth like a bike horror-porn. Scheibs' day was done, as tubeless tires are apparently unchangeable en velo. With a kid's soccer game pending, I had to bid the group adieu. Ty and Hoodie joined me and we wheeled back toward the bridge. Of course, I immediately punctured.
Once flat fixed, we headed back over the dam. It seemed like Hoodie and Ty were really pressing the pace, but it's ME we're talking about here, so I Rule V'd it and held on, despite the irritating tempo. The hill was a killer, felt like I couldn't keep up. Those guys were on fire! Got over the top, and they just kept killing the pace. At Debba lane, I popped off the back, tucking my tail between my legs. What happened to me?
At this point, I decided to check my brakes. And yes, the back brake was rubbing harder than a fifth-grader doing erasing some math problems. Order restored to the Universe.
SUNDAY
Me, Scheibs, Hoodie and Ullrich rolled a Sunday Blue Sky Lap down to the TT Loop. Impromptu invites were sent, so apologies if you missed it. You will not hear ME gush about the weather and how totally awesome it was, As great as Saturday's weather was, Sunday's was better.Windy on the way down. Pushed home by the breeze. Glorious. Check Strava for the Return TT Leg.
